【維新の記憶】Era 1 Memory of the Meiji Restoration

戊辰戦争は函館を終結とし、京都の鳥羽を始点とした一連の戦争である。
途中、幕府が重視した日光を要する宇都宮と会津藩の本拠会津の地を舞台に戦闘が行われた。

As the Boshin War came to a close, a minor conflict in Toba, Kyoto, led to a series of battles.
Key conflicts broke out in Utsunomiya, a transport hub linked to Nikko, and Aizu

1-1『函館』

1-2『会津』

会津若松城を襲う、耳をつんざく砲撃の音。それに紛れて、本来そこにあるべきものとは違う異音がする。
急いで駆けつけた刀剣男士たちを待ち受けていたのは、倒された遡行軍。――そして、それを作り出した異形の軍勢だった。

Gunfire punishes the ears as it rains on Aizuwakamatsu Castle. Amongst this, an unearthly sound is heard—the Saniwa's Blades rush to the scene, only to find the remnants of a beaten Revisionists. And in place of their usual enemy...

1-3『宇都宮』

嫌な予感がする。そう口走ったのは誰だったろう。
何度もやって来て、見慣れてしまった戦場。そこに、今までなかった存在がいる。
刀剣男士たちが身構えるが早いか、『それ』は襲いかかってきた。

Something doesn't feel right. It's a battlefield they've visited who knows how many times, yet one of the team detects something amiss—and then there "they" are. The Touken Danshi ready their blades, and an instant later a clash of steel commences.

1-4『鳥羽』

戦場を征く刀剣男士たちに、目を疑うような光景が飛び込んできた。
自分たち以外に、時間遡行軍と戦っている存在がいる。
だが、『それ』は歴史の保全が目的。――そして、歴史の異物であるのは、刀剣男士たちも例外ではない。

The Touken Danshi are at a battlefield, fighting once again to stop the History Retrograde Army's schemes. What they come across beggars belief: a force seeking to conserve history, clashing with the HRA—it's "them". Conservation means removal of all alien elements, and that includes the Touken Danshi.

【江戸の記憶】Era 2 Memory of Edo

江戸時代終焉の地は鳥羽である。
鳥羽の前は大江戸であり、その前は元禄の平安な時代が続く。
江戸時代はじまりの場所は皮肉にも江戸ではなく、大阪であった。

The Edo Period came to a close in Toba, where peace had reigned for two hundred and fifty years.
Ironically enough, this period of peace began nod in Edo, in Osaka.

2-1『鳥羽』

何者かに、時間遡行軍が次々に狩られている。これにより、歴史の本来の有り様を取り戻すのだろうか。
……いや、この時代にいる歴史の異物は、遡行軍だけではない。
次なる異物を狩るべく、狩人は刀剣男士たちへと襲いかかった。

Soldiers of the History Retrograde Army are falling to an unknown force. Will history be allowed to run its course if they're wiped out? .....Perhaps not; the HRA is not the only temporal anomaly. To extinguish the new intruder, the hunters set an attack on the Touken Danshi.

2-2『江戸』

刀剣男士と遡行軍の絶えることなき戦いを打破しようとでも言うのか、『それ』は姿を見せた。
『それ』の物言わぬ顔に、それでも刀剣男士たちはあるメッセージを読み取らざるを得ない。
――『歴史の異物よ、双方ともに滅びてしまえ』と。

They have once again appeared. The conflict between the Touken Danshi and HRA seems to be, in their eyes, an abomination. They stand undaunted before the Touken Danshi, who can sense all too clearly their hostility: "Trespassers upon the timeline, all of you begone!"

2-3『江戸・元禄』

いざ、尋常に。……今日もまた刀剣男士と遡行軍の戦いが始まる。
だが、その直後に、遡行軍は背後からの第三者によって切り伏せられた。
そしてそれを行った軍勢は、あぜんとする刀剣男士たちにそのまま襲いかかってきた。

Another day and another battlefield for the Touken Danshi. As always, the History Retrograde Army has to be stoppedd. ...Except not today. The Touken Danshi, dumbfounded, see their enemy splayed and crushed, and then they are descended upon by the vanquishers of the routed HRA.

2-4『大阪・大阪冬の陣』

何度も何度も、繰り返しこの時代での戦いを行ってきた。
だが、今回ばかりは同じことを繰り返すというわけにはいかなかったようだ。
刀剣男士、遡行軍その双方を滅ぼすべく、歴史の狩人が時空の歪みから姿を見せた。

This era has played host to battles with our enemy so many times. This time, there's a change to the status quo—out from some warped region of spacetime emerge a group of hunters, come to eliminate the HRA and the Touken Danshi alike.

【織豊の記憶】Era 3 Memory of Shokuho

安土桃山ともいうこの時代は、織田、豊臣の時代でもある。
織田が安土に城を構えてから、越前の宗教勢力を破り、本能寺の変後、関ヶ原の合戦にて終わる。

The Azuchi-Momoyama period was the age of two of Japan's great unifiers, Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
Oda was ultimately betrayed at Honnouji, while the Toyotomi clan passed from power at the Battle of Sekigahara.

3-1『関ヶ原』

関ヶ原の合戦。東西双方の軍勢がぶつかり合い、そしてそれに紛れるように時間遡行軍が暗躍する。
だが、今回はそれに加えて、もうひとつの軍勢が潜んでいた。
もちろん彼らは、刀剣男士との間に敵対以外の選択肢を持ち合わせてはいなかった。

While the armies of east and west clash at Sekigahara, the sinister History Retrograde Army influences events from the shadows. Meanwhile, there lurks another force, seeking to expel any and all intruders to this timeline, including the Touken Danshi.

3-2『本能寺』

……遠く、本能寺が、燃えている。物悲しさをどこか覚えるその光景。
だが物思いに足を止めている暇はない。長くこの場に留まれば、刀剣男士の存在が歴史を歪ませてしまう。
それを証明するかのように、眼前の空間が歪み――『彼ら』は現れた。

Off in the distance is Honnouji, ablaze. The sight has the Touken Danshi feeling vaguely downhearted, but there is no time to ponder. Their visit to the era, if drawn out, threatens to distort history. As if to symbolize this risk, a distortion in spacetime manifests, and out from it "they" emerge.

3-3『越前』

――戦場の音が、遠い。五感に伝わる情報がバラバラで、気分が悪くなってくる。
時空が歪んでいる。今まで存在しなかった何者かが、転移してこようとしている。
身構える刀剣男士を、新たな軍勢は冷たい双眸で見据えた。

The battlefield no longer sounds close at hand. The Touken Danshi's senses are thrown off balance. Nausea. A distortion in spacetime. A force alien to history emerges and fixes the battle-ready Touken Danshi with a cold glare.

3-4『安土』

安土城へと急ぐ刀剣男士たちを待っていたのは、城を守るように立ち塞がる異形の軍勢。
その足元には破壊された時間遡行軍の残骸も見える。
刀剣男士たちを目に留めた軍勢は、迷うことなくこちらに襲いかかってきたのだった。

Azuchi Castle, the objective the Touken Danshi hasten toward, is blocked off. An uncanny enemy stares them down, and with the HRA annihilated at their feet, they seem like the guardians of the castle. Unhesitatingly, they launch forward.

【戦国の記憶】Era 4 Memory of Sengoku

戦国時代とは室町幕府が力を失う応仁の乱がはじまる御霊合戦から、
織田信長による支配を印象付けた長篠の合戦までを言う。

The famed Warring States period of Japanese history is said to have begun with the Onin War and the Muromachi shogunate's fall from the halls of power. The period would continue until Oda Nobunaga's victory at the Battle of Nagashino.

4-1『長篠』

――いち早く遡行軍を排除し、元あった状況に修復しなければ。
その思いを胸に、先を急ぐ刀剣男士たちの前に、異形の影が立ちふさがる。もしや遡行軍の新手か!?
……いや、違う。その敵意は、刀剣男士たちと遡行軍の両方に向けられていたのだったから。

The Touken Danshi push ahead in their fervent fight to defend history from the HRA. But a shadow, menacing and hostile, blocks their way. Confronted by an entirely new foe, their intent on eliminating both the Touken Danshi and the HRA is made clear.

4-2『三方ヶ原』

刀剣男士たちが今まさに討伐しようとした遡行軍は、別の何者かによって切り伏せられた。
だが、それを為した軍勢が刀剣男士たちの味方ではないということは明白。
何故ならば、彼らはその刀の切っ先を、敵意とともにこちらに向けてきているのだから。

The Touken Danshi came expecting a battle, but their opponent has already been laid waste to. It's clear the enemy of the enemy is not a friend. The HRA's vanquishers need not state this fact, for their weapons are soon directed at the Touken Danshi.
