Humans face the same question. They suffer while they seek for the answer.

誰もが悲しみ苦しむことが常であるなど、嘆くべきことでしょう
If the suffering is unavoidable, that is lamentable.

【地蔵行平】
……だから、吾らは立ち止まってはいられらない。そのことを此処のものたちは教えてくれる
That may be, yet we cannot stop. That is the lesson to be learned here.

【江雪左文字】
……貴方は、地蔵菩薩そのものになろうとしているのですか
...Are you wishing to become Jizo Bosatsu itself.

【地蔵行平】
そうあれかしと望まれた……。それをよいことに、目を背けているだけかも知れないな……
