The upcoming 2020 US election is the most meaningful referendum on liberal democracy. If Sanders loses, it will be because of the elite anti-democratic forces prevalent in both parties and will leave no possibility for change through electoral politics.

Corbyn was the target of a smear campaign that couldn’t have succeeded without assistance from party elites, mainstream media and intelligence agencies. Sanders was similarly attacked in 2016 and is being targeted with greater ferocity for 2020. Will he apply the lessons?
