@bananamanzero @ruinah @casscuttlefish Yes its still around. I logged in yesterday out of nostalgia and curiosity. Let’s just say it’s not as popular as it once was :( Sites like MySpace and 8bit Collective were the end for micromusic as a properly functioning community. But it had already had a massive impact.

@ruinah @havocCcmusic @gw3m @casscuttlefish goto80 would be best to ask as he's been researching it. On the Amiga we were using 'chipmusic' in the '80s (example pouet.net/prod.php?which… ) which was brought over from the c64 scene. I think chiptune was mentioned in the '80s at least though?

@4mat_scenemusic @ruinah @havocCcmusic @gw3m @casscuttlefish Chipmusic has been traced back to 1988 (actually even to 1985, but... chipflip.wordpress.com/2017/03/24/mag… ) but I haven't looked into chiptune much. It was at least around in 1991. And micromusic was sometimes used in the 80's in the sense of "microcomputer music", ie chipmusic/chiptune. :)

スーパーファミコンソフト「魔法ぽいぽいぽいっと！」の声優は横山智佐さんですが、ネット上では全く話題になっていませんね。元の音声をMDに録音して、私物のAKAI S950で1オクターブ上げたものを再びMDに録音して、それをPCM化して1オクターブ下げて再生するという謎の手順で容量を稼いでいました🙂
